This space is an entry way for Lutherans to begin engaging the emerging conversation.  It serves our commitment to proclaiming the Gospel in a postmodern world and dialog with others about how we are the church in the world.

There is a group of folks who are leading / pastoring / curating Emerging Lutheran churches (and others who, like me, wish we were) that are preparing to launch a “new” Luthermergent web presence. This will be a place for people who are interested in the emerging church conversation to converse, connect, gather, and resource. Our hope is to, among other things, combine the current luthermergent.org and emergingleaders.ning.com site under one main URL. I noticed that your excellent site hasn’t been updated in over 6 months. Is your team of Emerging Lutherans still interested in this conversation?       Hey Erik! Thanks for this comment.

      The group of us began this site during our final semester of seminary and we’re all now first-call pastors. Unfortunately, I think it’s gotten put on hold for many of us due to the demands of ministry (and for me personally, other obligations to other sites). However, I for one am still very much in the conversation and am looking to get back into the blogging end of things again.

      I met Tim Snyder in Albuquerque for the CAC Emerging Church conference and am interested in being part of the Luthermergent conversation/web presence. I’ll certainly be passing this along to the others in the group as well.

      Look forward to wherever this may lead!
